Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar® lens

The F2.8 Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar® T* has a wide aperture, which allows more light to enter the lens. The unique T* multilayer lens coating gives you sharp, true-colour image reproduction without flare or ‘ghosting’. The wide aperture also enables you to control foreground and background blur levels, so you can be more creative with your photos.

BIONZ X processor

The camera’s BIONZ X image processor enables high-speed, high-precision processing of the information coming from the CMOS sensor. The image processor also helps the camera deliver a wide ISO range that extends up to ISO 25600, for incredible detail all the way through to the highest sensitivity setting.

XGA OLED Tru-Finder™

With 100% frame coverage, wide viewing angle (33.1˚) and high eyepoint (23.3mm), the OLED Tru-Finder™ shows you real-time effects before you press the shutter. The hi-res, hi-contrast OLED viewfinder can display a range of information including exposure levels, brightness, white balance, histogram, shooting information and face recognition.

One-touch remote and one-touch sharing

One-touch remote lets you use your smartphone or tablet as a viewfinder and remote control for a digital camera, and one-touch sharing lets you transfer your photos and videos from your camera. Either way, by installing Imaging Edge Mobile app to your NFC-enabled Android smartphone or tablet, you can avoid complex set-up sequences and establish wireless connection simply by touching your device to the camera. You are now ready to control your camera from your smartphone to take a photo from a previously out-of-reach spot, or simply be in your own group shot, as well as transfer them instantly to your smartphone for sharing on SNS. Advanced aspherical lens (AA lens) technology
